Looking at Self – True story of an ex-Convict

When I was eating at a foot court, a person who was selling key chains came up to me, and introduced as a new church member, and asked me some questions about my sermons, like how to pray in tongue, what it means by certain words of my sermons, etc.  In the conversation, he also told me a story of his past, that he was an ex-Convict, just released out of Prison recently, and since then he found it hard to find employment out there because of his tainted background therefore he is temporarily selling key chain right now.

I know this guy is saved and on fire for Jesus, for I could see the radiance on his face.  And he wants to know more and more of Jesus. But he is still could not stop blaming himself of his mistakes in life over drugs, that put him in prison; and that he has disappointed everyone who loves him, he disappointed God, his parents, and his family.  He also felt like a hypocrite, because he still could not get out of his unclean habits like smoking and drinking.  So, he may be an ex-Convict, but he seemed still living like a Convict, being convicted by his bad-self.

I asked him “what is the difference between you and me?” He could not understand what I meant. I continued “there is no difference between you and me but one”

“No difference: for we both were saved by God’s Grace, You entered prison because your mistake was manifested OUTWARDLY, it was found out openly, while many people including me having our mistakes not manifested outwardly but INWARDLY hidden.  We don’t commit murder but we hated someone somewhere before. We don’t commit adultery but we lust in our mind. And if the truth were to be revealed, every one of us in this world including myself would have to go prison because GOD SEE YOUR HEART.”

“Many people look at their GOOD SELF (self righteous), while you look at your BAD SELF; but BOTH ways are still looking at SELF.  And when you look at self, you will be in a downward spiral, you are out to fail, because your Self will definitely disappoint you, not today may be tomorrow.”

“The difference between you and me is only one: you still look at Self, while, I don’t look at Self, but I look to the perfect man: Jesus Christ, who will never disappoint me, who still loves me even in the midst of my imperfection. Everything I see about Jesus is beautiful, and therefore this life will turn beautiful too…;” because as He is, so are we in this world (1John 4:17).

All point to Jesus

What makes God WELL PLEASED ?

God created time, and thus He is beyond time, He is not bound by what He created. The creator cannot be lesser than what He created. Thus, He can and He has gone ahead to the FUTURE, and He comes back and bring us through the year of 2015. Therefore, God also knows what is going to happen in 2015 and beyond, and Pastors & Preachers can be the oracle of God to speak for God.  God tells us things that otherwise, we would not know.  God gives us WORD of knowledge, not a paragraph, but just what you need to know. Because sometimes if too much information you know ahead may cause unnecessary fear in you. God doesn’t want you to be in fear.

We shall talk about some of the 5 Leviticus offerings: Sins, Trespass, Burnt, Meal, and Peace offerings: The word “Trespass offering” in Original Hebrew “Asham” (= ashame / Guilt Offering) is sometimes interchanged with Sins offering; they both are compulsory offerings continuously yearly or whenever the trespass is committed. And, the Last 3 offerings (burnt, meal, and peace) are the Free will / voluntary offerings, which are done whenever you feel like doing it, not a compulsory.

In terms of the New Covenant of Grace: you do not keep offering the Sins offering & the Trespass offering because Jesus Christ has fulfilled it on the Cross and it is once and for all; This happened and was fulfilled when you received Christ for the first time.

Burnt offering (= as an act of appreciation to the Lord), you will offer this for example whenever you are happy of something like the Lord has blessed you with a good bumper crops.  PEACE offering (= In Hebrew “Shalamin” from the word “Shalom” = Peace); while To PAY / Redeem / Restore in Hebrew is “Shalam” which is also the root word of “Shalom”. Therefore, before you can have Peace (Shalom) and the reason you can have peace (Shalom), is because Jesus has PAID (Shalam) for you sins on that Cross.

Why is it possible that Jesus could fulfill “Once and for all” for the sins & Trespass offerings ? You may ask: How can Jesus who lived 2000 years ago died for someone who is yet to be born in the future? Remember that God is outside time, the cross is outside time. When Jesus died on the cross in Jerusalem, He died outside time, for people who lived before Him and after Him. As far as God is concerned, Jesus’ blood shed, is as if it was shed just now. We think it is 2000 years ago, while for God there is no time barriers. Our God is the God of “I AM” – NOW.

What makes God WELL PLEASED ?

Heb 13:15  Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice (= Worship) of PRAISE to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, GIVING THANKS to His name.
Heb 13:16  But do not forget to do good (= to be generous) and to share, for with such sacrifices God is WELL PLEASED (with something that you do)

We are always highly favored in His eyes no matter what, but this word WELL PLEASED, is a different word it is related to something that we do / our actions.  My child is always loved and highly favored in my sight, but there are certain actions of my child that I am exceptionally Pleased, that make me laugh or smile, like when my child “hugs me tightly” or when he said “Thank you, daddy”.

We need to know what makes God well pleased. ? It is like the forgotten art of being a Christian.  Some Christians are even so embarrassed to Praise the Lord in the public.  Praise & Worship, are that forgotten arts, they are attractive to the Lord. (Psalm 33:1  Rejoice in the LORD, O you righteous! For PRAISE from the upright is CALMLY / beautiful.) Therefore, Confess His Name openly.  Why are you afraid to praise Him openly, while the world can use profanity openly?. Dare to stand out for Jesus, don’t be like the world, you are special as diamond is precious because they are rare, while common stones are abundant like the people of the world.

Eg. At the nude-beach, everyone is nude, except you because you have moral value of a Christian.  Don’t feel guilty because you made a moral stand that is in line with the word of God. The world won’t like it, they said we are intolerant to them, while in fact, they are the one intolerant to our divine value.

We know this verse well and often quote it for blessing others with abundance, and to build up Strength and faith:

But do you know the context of this verse is tightly related to the verses before it? How do I know? Look at the word AND, this verse is a continuation of the verses prior to it, thus we must look at what are the verses prior to it that caused God to supply all your need abundantly, not according to your own estimation, but according to the abundant of HIS RICHES in GLORY by CHRIST JESUS. The blessed amount which is above and beyond this world, out of this world!

Let’s see the previous verses:
Php 4:16  For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.
Php 4:17  Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.
Php 4:18  Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a SWEET-SMELLING AROMA, an acceptable SACRIFICE, WELL PLEASING to God.

I used to read this and thought that Epaphroditus brought gifts from Thessalonica: some Perfume for apostle Paul, because of the word SWEET-SMELLING AROMA but this is not the case. This is the Leviticus offerings, mainly the 3 non-compulsory offerings they are called THE SWEET-SMELLING SACRIFICES (burnt, meal, and peace),

Eg. When you give to God, like: your money tithe & offering, your Praise & Worship in songs, every time you do good, or being generous to others; they went up to God like a SWEET-SMELLING AROMA. God loves it, He smells the Tithe, He smells the offerings, a GIFT GIVEN IN WORSHIP TO GOD. These sacrifices are voluntary, not something forced upon you. Like: tithing, it is not something you must do, but it is a revelation between you and God that you get to do it as an opportunity.

Then only you see the verse starts with:

AND my GOD shall SUPPLY ALL YOUR NEED ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS” (Php 4:19). The context, is the people of Thessalonica has been giving to Paul in terms of those SWEET-SMELLING AROMA SACRIFICES, including: Tithe & Money Offerings.  So, when you give, don’t forget the dynamic of worship God. Take your time, don’t just rush through and put something in the offering bag, because that giving is also part of worshiping God. Present your sacrifices with gladness, knowing that they are well pleasing to God. And, the subsequent result is THE FRUITS THAT ABOUNDS TO YOUR ACCOUNT (Php 4:17). You receive profits and advantages, as such fruit does; for God does not forget to recompense acts of bounty, and labors of love, it shall have its reward in the issue of things, upon the casting up of accounts.

Draw Near to God and Receive His Restoration in 2015

Leviticus for many Christians, is dry, often skipped; but this book is a beautiful picture of our Lord Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross.  One perfect sacrifice of the cross has been illustrated in details into 5 types of offerings: Burn offering, Peace offering, Meal offering, Sins offering, and Trespass offering.  These Five offerings encompass one perfect offering at the cross.

Lev 1:1-2  Now the LORD called to Moses, and spoke to him from the tabernacle of meeting, saying, “Speak to the children of Israel, and say to them: ‘When any one of you brings an OFFERING (in Hebrew = KORBAN) to the LORD, you shall bring your offering of the livestock—of the herd and of the flock.

In Hebrew OFFERING = “KORBAN” = means: DRAW NEAR TO GOD. And, we draw near to Him with something in our hands, not empty-handed, but with livestock like Ox, Lamb, or pigeon (for the poorer Offeror). Notice the animals offered are humble animals, obedient for sacrifice, pictures of Jesus.  Today, we come to God not with the offering of animal sacrifice, but with the sweet fragrant aroma of His wonderful Name, Christ Jesus. Praising His Name brings good aroma to Father God who loves to be reminded when we remember His beloved Son, Lord Jesus.

Chapter one of Leviticus book described the Burnt offering, where the OFFEROR (picture of you and I) had sins, and therefore we came with an offering of animal sacrifice (picture of Jesus as the perfect Lamb of God taking our place). The Priest (picture of God) will then examine the livestock being offered, not examining the OFFEROR, because it is clear why the OFFEROR is there in the first place (because he has sins). Likewise, God did not examine you IF you put your trust in Christ Jesus, It is clear you had sins and you will continue to have sins as long as you live, but God’s eyes are no longer on you, but on your perfect offering, Jesus Christ.  (see the short video clip – attached herewith)

Pastors and Preachers take heed that you do not preach to “examine the OFFEROR”, i.e. by making your Congregation examine themselves of their sins, to observe their own strength. The only thing that the Offeror needs to examine today is your FAITH, Examine whether you Have believed in the Right Gospel?

Today, we do not practice the Old Covenant way of Burnt offering anymore, but the principle of the offering is still the same, we still do it continuously, not with livestock but the perfect Lamb of God, Jesus. It is when we remember His sacrifice on the Cross for us, we bring the sweet aroma of His name to God.  For instance, during our holy communion, or when we worship Him in our Praise & worship session, or when we meet Him face to face during our prayers.

And, it is not a one-time offering only when you received Jesus or on your water baptism.  Although Jesus died on the cross one time for all eternity, but God wants your remembrance of HIM continuously.  In fact, Jesus said it on the Last Supper, when He knew He was going to be crucified, it is the crucial word: He told His disciples to Remember Him as often as they could.

1Cor 11:24-25  …, “Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.”  In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This DO, AS OFTEN AS you drink it, IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.”

Salvation in original Greek word is not just your ticket to Heaven, but it encompasses all the blessings of God that you need to have on earth (like Health, Peace of Mind, Joy & Wealth) in order for you to live life abundantly as what Jesus has said in Joh 10:10  … I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more ABUNDANTLY.

This ABUNDANT LIFE does not come by you trying to merit it, because God’s Grace is unearned, unmerited Favor. Therefore, it is not by working your way up to deserve it. You cannot earn it because “God is too rich to sell to you, while you are too poor to buy it from God.”  I heard one preacher commended one of his church voluntary servers who just got good promotion in his secular job, by relating it to his service in the church, saying “because of his faithful serving at the church that he got the big promotion”. This is very wrong, misleading and dangerous, and it is no longer Grace if you think that because you serve in the Church then you will automatically receive more blessings than others.  Then how is the preacher going to explain to those so many others who serve faithfully like him but do not receive blessings like him?

On the other extreme, many “Lazy Grace Believers” who think just one time receiving Christ will suffice, nothing else needs to be done, and if God wants to give and He gives “Que Sera, Sera” (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)”.  It is not like this either.

My Friend, God will not force His blessings on you, in fact ”you have not because you ask not.”  God loves to be reminded of His Son, Jesus.  Just as I love my little child, and so I love to hear People speak well of her or adore her. It pleases me!

To put in another perspective of Jesus being our bridegroom.  Your wedding day does not end after you pronounced your Love-Vow. In fact it is only the beginning of marriage journey!  You do not tell your spouse “I have vowed I love you once and that’s enough”. No, she won’t accept it!  She will expect you to continue to DRAW NEAR to her DAILY. She wants a RELATIONSHIP that you DO spend a quality time with her, talk to her; treat her with Love and Respect. Your mere presence will not satisfy her.

You are Jesus’ bride. He wants to shower you with closeness and loving relationship, but will you DRAW NEAR to Him as your Response?  Or you’d rather stand aloof?  My Friend, Jesus wants to love you and shower you with His unmerited favors, making you feel you matter to Him; you are precious in His eyes, you are the apple of His eyes. Hurting you will be like hurting the apple of His eyes, it is the most sensitive part of body. That is how God feel about you.  You are so sensitive to Him, touching you will be like touching His eyes.  Are you aware of this?

Zec 2:8  For thus says the LORD of hosts: “…; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye.

In Luke 19, there is the story of Zacchaeus, a rich tax collector. In those days, tax collector was the most hated person or position because they were considered the traitors to the people.  They collected tax money for the Roman Government, while normally enriched themselves through corruption.  Look at how Jesus approached Zacchaeus. He gave him Grace, made him felt important and precious.  Jesus approached him in person, looked up to see him, and called his name “Zacchaeus” while no one has called him by his name ever since he became the tax collector. People called him “sinner”, “traitor” But Jesus spoke to him inviting Himself to eat and stay in his house.  The meaning of “Zacchaeus” is pure / the innocence one. What a sweet name when Jesus addressed him as who he was truly inside him “pure” when he was born and given name as such.  Zacchaeus was so joyful, he felt worthy as a human being and thankful to be treated with respect although everyone called him sinner.  People who saw this bizarre action began to say “He has gone to be a guest with a man who is a sinner.” (Luk 19:7).  Look at the end result: Jesus’ Grace had led Zacchaeus to repentance, when Zacchaeus stood up and said, “Look, Lord, I give half of my goods to the poor; and if I have taken anything from anyone by false accusation, I restore fourfold.” (Luk 19:8).

“The Lord is my shepherd”. Indeed a shepherd loves every single sheep He possesses, no exception, every sheep is brought out to grass on the same field. Some sheep go far away from Him, and some sheep draw near to Him. When the shepherd plucks some extra goodies plants nearby like berries, or carrots, which sheep do you think will He give first? Certainly, the sheep that draw near to Him. Not the sheep far away, but the sheep nearby. Thus, the Lord loves every believer the same, but not everyone will receive the same goodies. Are you nearby Him or far away from Him? Are you close to Him? and hear His Heart-beats? God’s Heart-beats are full of Love, and Grace. He wants to shower you with goodness and mercies, even though you felt unworthy like Zacchaeus, even though you felt short stature, yet He will approach you personally, and called you by your wonderful name; if you are willing to look up for Him.

I am closing with the story of Joseph in Gen 45: Joseph is the picture of Jesus.  Remember He was rejected and betrayed by his own brothers.  He suffered painful agony being a slave then being imprisoned, but God was with Joseph and made him prosperous and successful, that he later became the most wealthy and powerful man in charge of all the land of Egypt. When his brothers came to Egypt to look for grains because of famine struck their land, they did not recognize Joseph.  While Joseph recognized them but he did not use his power to punish them for revenge. Joseph could but he would not. Instead, he used his power to reveal himself and showed Grace.  Joseph said to his brothers:

Gen 45:4  And Joseph said to his brothers, “Please come near to me.” So they came near. Then he said: “I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.(NKJV)

Gen 45:5  But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life.(NLT)

Joseph gave Reference to God and he used his Power to ask them to DRAW NEAR to Him instead.  And, Holy Spirit recorded and revealed the heart of God in v.10 , “GOSHEN” in Hebrew means DRAW NEAR. And, see the next sentence is confirming that “you shall be NEAR TO HIM.”

Gen 45:10-11  You shall dwell in the land of GOSHEN, and you shall be NEAR TO ME, you and your children, your children’s children, your flocks and your herds, and all that you have.  THERE I will provide for you, lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty; for there are still five years of famine.” ‘

My Friend, God wants you and your loved ones to always DRAW NEAR to Him. Look up to Him daily. DRAWING NEAR is the Place of “THERE”, a place where He will PROVIDE for you and your household, because the world will still experience famine in 2015, but you are not in the place of the world, you are THERE at a place of NEARNESS TO HIM. So, near that you can hear His heart-beat of Love pounding because of your Nearness to Him. It pleases Him to have you Near for He Loves you!

In fact, Jesus wants us to live life one day at a time. Don’t regret about yesterday for it has gone, been forgiven and forgotten; nor should you worry about tomorrow for it is not come yet, so leave tomorrow to HIM for He knows your tomorrow today.  Live for today for He will give what you need for today only, when He said in: Luk 11:3  Give us day by day our DAILY bread.  It is not ‘weekly bread’ nor ‘monthly bread’, but His Grace is enough only for Today.  When tomorrow comes there will be another fresh Grace for you.  Abraham Lincoln once said “the Future comes one day at a time”.  And it comes through Jesus. Hallelujah.

Restoration 2015

The Year of RESTORATION 2015

As accurately prophesied by Ps. Joseph Prince in the first Sunday of January 2014, we have truly witnessed darkness covering the world during the year 2014, we witnessed catastrophes happening one after another: terrors and calamities; the war against Israel in Gaza; Soviet Union occupying Ukraine; four Airplanes disasters, and one disaster happened on the last days of 2014; the spread of Ebola virus like never before; etc-etc.

It was the year of Greater Glory for God’s Kingdom. We are not the world, we are the children of God, and as the world is getting darker, thus greater glory will be seen upon God’s children, who are shining brighter Light in the darker world.

Isa 60:2  For behold, the DARKNESS shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people (of the world); But the LORD will arise over you, And His glory will be SEEN upon you.
Isa 60:5  Then you shall see and become RADIANT, And your heart shall swell with JOY; Because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, The WEALTH of the Gentiles shall come to you.

It is a matter of which side are you in? The world’s or God’s side?  Just like the ten plagues in Egypt leading to Moses bring out the children of Israel to the promised land.  Which side are you in?  The Egyptians or Israelis?  The plagues were the darkness that covered the Egypt land, it is a disaster to the Egyptians; while it is a blessing to the children of Israel because without the plagues they would not have been granted freedom from slavery and given post payment of wealth that rightfully belonged to them working as slaves.

In 2015, we may continue to see darkness that covered the world.  Ps. Joseph Prince had the vision of some tensions going against Israel, like savage claws trying to squeeze her, the greed of taking over the land of Israel by her enemies; and also some shaking in the Financial sector of particular countries.

Although Israel had rejected her Messiah, Jesus Christ, but God has never forgotten her, she is still the chosen nation and chosen people, from where the Messiah had come. And, The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob would protect Israel at all costs. Any nations that go against Israel, will be “cut in pieces”.

Zec 12:3  And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it.  (NKJV)

(On that day I will make Jerusalem an immovable rock. All the nations will gather against it to try to move it, but they will only hurt themselves. – NLT)

The theme of this year is not a replacement to the previous theme/s, a new theme come does not end the older theme, but always an addition or add on to what we have had so far. It is complimentary to each other.   In 2011 – the year of Restful Increase; 2012 – Unceasing Fruitfulness; 2013 – the Key of David, God opens door; and 2014 – the Greater Glory.

The Restoration principle:

Some believers in 2014 might have experienced some losses, cheated by the devils, or even having lost someone they loved, God will restore those losses in 2015, it may not come in greater quantity, but quality. Eg. Loss of a wife, restoration will not be 5 wives, but one wife with a better quality of relationship.  Why  Greater / Better?

This is because when a man restores, man can only put back as good as the original, but when God restore, the result is always better. This is the principle of God’s Law, taken from the Old Covenant.  Although we are not under Law, but certain Law principles can still be applicable in to the New Covenant.  For example the principle of Greater Restoration:

Exo 22:1  “If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and slaughters it or sells it, he shall restore five oxen for an ox and four sheep for a sheep.”

Five oxen for an ox vs. four sheep for a sheep, why different in the number of restoration? The principle is : the heavier the Loss, relatively the more Restoration received. Ox is heavier in value than a sheep.

This justification is being used by Apostle Paul and Timothy who used the Old Covenant Law and applied it for the New Covenant teaching, for example:

The Old Covenant Law:
Deu_25:4  “You shall not muzzle an ox while it treads out the grain.
It is literally referring to Ox while working on the field and we should not muzzle the snout (cover with something to prevent it from eating some of the harvest).  The Law seems to concern about the oxen getting enough to eat, getting their fair share when working hard on the field.

But this principle was used by Paul, to say that God isn’t primarily concerned about the oxen, it is applicable to man.
In 1 Corinthians 9:9  For it is written in the law of Moses, “YOU SHALL NOT MUZZLE AN OX WHILE IT TREADS OUT THE GRAIN.” Is it oxen God is concerned about?

Paul was taking the Law on Oxen and then applying its principle to the people who serve in the full time ministry that they should be adequately provided for.  “The laborer deserves his wages” (Luke 10:17; cf. Matt. 10:10).  Paul’s point is that pastor-elders should not be taken for granted or taken advantage of, but rather should be adequately compensated for their gospel labors.

Therefore likewise, the principle on God’s Restoration is always Greater than the original Loss suffered; it is the principle of the Law that has been in the practice for thousands of years, The God-breathed written Laws through His prophet Moses.

Being charged guilty of sin (trespass offering), and the restitution (Restoration) value is always more:

Lev 6:4  then it shall be, because he has sinned and is guilty, that he shall restore what he has stolen, or the thing which he has extorted, or what was delivered to him for safekeeping, or the lost thing which he found,

Lev 6:5  or all that about which he has sworn falsely. He shall RESTORE its FULL VALAUE, ADD ONE-FIFTH MORE to it, and give it to whomever it belongs, on the day of his trespass offering.

Even if the mistake was unintentional, the Restoration value (restitution / redemption) is still Greater.

Lev 5:15  “If a person commits a trespass, and sins UNINTENTIONALLY in regard to the holy things of the LORD, then he shall bring to the LORD as his trespass offering a ram without blemish from the flocks, with your valuation in shekels of silver according to the shekel of the sanctuary, as a trespass offering.

Lev 5:16  And he shall make restitution for the harm that he has done in regard to the holy thing, and shall add one-fifth to it and give it to the priest. So the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the trespass offering, and it shall be forgiven him.

v.15 = one ram for the unintentional trespass + plus v.16 adding any harm done (if any), the person shall add one more ram (100%) + add one fifth (20% more); which means a total Restoration of 120% additional (total 2 rams + 20% more, can be in shekels of silver.)

By now, I hope you are comfortable in the principle of God that His Restoration value is always Greater than the original value of Loss.

The ram in the New Covenant is referring to Christ Jesus, our perfect offering to God, and there will be no need for additional offerings anymore. Example of Unintentional trespass: during our praise & worship in the church, we may have unholy thought or thought against someone, this is called “in regard to the holy things of the Lord”. But that is fine, don’t be taken down by it, ignore it and continue your praise and worship, because our perfect offering of Christ Jesus has taken care of this kind of trespasses as well.

The Lord Restores although it was Satan who stole.

Jesus Christ did not cheat and has never cheated on us, He did not take anything away from us, nor caused our losses; and yet He is doing the Restoration. This principle was also explained by the scripture:

Joh 15:25  But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘THEY HATED ME WITHOUT A CAUSE.’

John was quoting from the Holy Spirit’s inspiration that David had in:
Psa 69:4  THOSE WHO HATE ME WITHOUT A CAUSE Are more than the hairs of my head; They are mighty who would destroy me, Being my enemies wrongfully; THOUGH I HAVE STOLEN NOTHING, I STILL MUST RESTORE IT.

Whether it is unintentional or intentional Fault in the first place, God can still Restore!!! Because you are in Christ, and as He is so are we in this world.

Somehow, if we think about it, Aren’t you glad that Adam fell? Because of his fall, Jesus came to redeem us, and made us joined-heir with Him.  Although Adam was living in paradise but think about it: that paradise is still restricted with the Law of “Gen 2:17  but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” And, inside the paradise, was still infested with snake!  There is still Satan (serpent snake) in the paradise; so environmentally the paradise is not “safe”, the enjoyment of the garden of Eden would depend on Adam and his offspring refraining from eating from the forbidden tree.  There is still Law in the Garden!

But, today, of what Jesus has done on the Cross, we have no Law Restriction anymore; we are truly living in the Freedom of Christ. Freedom to live with peace and joy in Christ, and this does not make us want to sin, but want to glorify Him!

Secondly, Adam had no Holy Spirit like we do today, he was merely a created being like the angels, not a family of God (Son-ship) like we are today.  Likewise, God has “gained” a family from the fall of Adam.

Jesus Christ has also “gained” a new crown “Crown of Redeemer”, from so many Crown He has got, this Crown is paid with His life & blood.  Plus, we also become the brides of Jesus.  Jesus “gained” having a bride from the fall of Adam.

Holy Spirit has also “gained” closeness in Relationship with us. We are now the temple of Holy Spirit, and no longer cold-stoned temple-buildings.

Last but not least, Man-kind (believers) “gained” being a joined-heir with Jesus Christ, we inherit heaven and earth.

Thus, we can say: it would be better for the devils not to attack us. Every time the devils attack, WE GAIN MORE IN RETURN !! Look for Spoils when there is attacks! Much more you will have in return in the eventuality.

Rom 5:17  For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, MUCH MORE those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.

We belong to the MUCH MORE here, because we are in this New Covenant of Grace. We have so much more to receive and to give, be blessed and be a blessing to others as well.

Testimony of Ps. Joseph Prince: before his second child: baby Justine was born, Wendy (his wife) had lost an unborn baby of 9 weeks pregnancy. It was the saddest cry he had heard from Wendy. But today, looking at the amazing intelligent and personality of Justine, he can say with certainty that Justin is a Restoration from God. Justin is so adorable and has so Much More than average toddlers will be at his age.

Isa 42:22  But this is a people robbed and plundered; All of them are snared in holes, And they are hidden in prison houses; They are for prey, and no one delivers; For plunder, and no one says, “RESTORE!”

It is amazing a believer being Robbed and Plundered, and yet he keeps quiet to himself, why ? You  need to want to break free ! You need to say it and believe it ! And Rest in the finished work of Jesus. The Rest will be taken care of by the Power of His Holy Spirit.

God gave Ps. Joseph Prince the following verses:

  • Restore the wasted time caused by your indulgence in sins, the wasted years we spent in sins, and as we return to Him now, He shall Restore the YEARS that has lost.
Joe 2:25 “So I will restore to you the YEARS that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.
  • Restoring your Soul: Soul is your mind, heart, and emotion. Restoring the shame you suffered from the lost years, and your depression into sound mind. He would do it for you, for He leads you by His Spirit and keep assuring you that you are still Righteous in His eyes even when you have failed many times.
Psa 23:3  He restores my SOUL; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.
  • Restore your Health: a prolonged ailment or great plaque.
Jer 30:17 For I will restore HEALTH to you And heal you of your WOUNDS,’ says the LORD, ‘Because they called you an outcast saying: “This is Zion; No one seeks her.” ‘
WOUNDS here is the same Hebrew word used in Deut 28 that means “great & prolonged plaque”.  Some ailment that you have given up or succumb to it, because of the prolonged period of suffering.

You need to know that the Battle has been completed, accomplished and won on the cross by Christ Jesus.  You do not fight to get victory, but you fight from victory. It is the fight of FAITH, just believe !  For instance: when you see your body having ailment, the physical may not show well, but believe: it is merely temporal symptoms, believe the unseen: that it is well “by His stripe your body is already healed”.  Thus, your fight is the fight of REST, resting in Christ.

Psa 23:3  He RESTORES my SOUL; He LEADS me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake.

Notice how does the good shepherd Jesus Christ Restores your Soul ? Look at the sentence before and after He “Restores my Soul” : it is being sandwiched by both “He Leads me” into Shalom Peace.

Psa 23:2  He MAKES me to LIE DOWN in green pastures; He LEADS me beside the STILL waters.

Firstly He makes you lie down peacefully grassing in green pastures (food), then He leads you into STILL water. In Hebrew STILL = “Manukah” which means REST.  God wants you to REST before He will Restores your Soul. And then He leads you into the path of Righteousness, being the awareness of His imputed Righteousness as a Gift to you.

Therefore, the key word is REST to Receive. Your Faith is shown in Resting. Resting is not inactivity but Holy Spirit directed activity. BE STILL AND LET GOD TAKE OVER.

Ps. Joseph Prince has been using this phrase very frequently: “when you work, God Rest ; but when you Rest, God work”. This phrase is taken from the story of Ruth & Boaz :

Ruth represents all of us believers the bride of Jesus, while Boaz represents Jesus Christ, our kinsman-redeemer.  Ruth was unable to rescue herself, requesting of the kinsman-redeemer (Boaz) to cover her with his protection, redeem her, and make her his wife. In the same way, the Lord Jesus Christ bought us for Himself, out of the curse, out of our destitution; made us His own beloved bride; and blessed us for all generations.

Rth 3:18  Then she said, “SIT STILL, my daughter, until you know how the matter will turn out; for the man WILL NOT REST until he has concluded the matter this day.”

You don’t have to know many things, in fact sometimes it is better not to know things in advance, that may even cause you to be in fear unnecessarily. Thank God that He did not reveal all things to us. He reveals what is necessary for us to know. Rest your Trust in Him who knows all things and who loves you so much that He will cause all things, good and bad to work for your good (Rom 8:28). So, If we just SIT STILL, Jesus Christ will not Rest but keep working until He has concluded the matter.

Rest your way into His RESTORATION.
