LOVE gives while FAITH takes

(Heb 11:6) “But without FAITH it is impossible to please God…”  Why is God not pleased if you do not have Faith? Because Faith involves Love, without Faith you would not believe in the Love of God for you.  God wants you to believe that He loves you so much. He has demonstrated His sacrificial Love on the cavalry for you, it has cost God the Passion of His beloved Son, Jesus, for you, and how much more painful it will be when you do not believe in His costly sacrifice?

Faith works by Love and they work hand in hand. Faith is so important for God, because it is so connected to His Love for you, (Gal 5:6  … but faith working through love.)  It is when you really believe that God loves you unconditionally, FAITH suddenly springs up from nowhere & happens effortlessly, and you will walk in great faith. A person who walks in Faith means it is a Revelation of “Lord, I believe You love me!” and this pleases God!

Look at a marriage: If you really love your spouse, you will want your spouse to believe in your love (have faith in you). Without Faith, it is very difficult to live a life together. If one day you hear someone says seeing your husband in the lobby of a hotel. What would you react? Trust him or accuse him of adultery?

Likewise, without faith, how could you perceive the love of God for you?, Furthermore, you cannot tangibly see God, could you? Nor, see His tangible love for you?  Much more, you’ll need FAITH to know and believe in His Love for you. Without Faith you would not be able to PERCEIVE God’s love for you, thus you would not be able to RECEIVE His love for you either. Therefore, It is impossible to please God without Faith.

You cannot receive if you do not perceive His Love. You can see this in a child, Most child will not lie, they like candy & chocolate. Every time, you come with candy & chocolate, they would jump in joy to pick them. But, one day when your child made a mistake and was expecting to be reprimanded by you; now try giving him candy & chocolate, he would not want to receive them, why? Because he thought he was not loved anymore due to the mistake he’d done. But, when you assured him that you’d still love him the same irregardless of his mistakes, I am sure now he will want to receive the candy & chocolate again.

Likewise, if you know & believe, no matter what you did, do or will do, that God still loves you, you will have a Bold Faith to take the goodness of God.  And, Faith is also so important because it causes us also to REST (we saw this in Heb 3:18 + Heb 4:3). Jesus took every beating on the cross so that we can have His full blessings. His punishment becomes our Peace, our Rest, and our possession of prosperity.  Jesus’ payment is our possession.  This year 2015 is the Year of HIS RESTORATION, and being in REST causes you to let God work miraculously in the Restoration process. We are RESTING in everything that Jesus has paid dearly on the cross.

In my previous posting, we learnt that Faith does grow, from having No Faith to Great Faith and Audacious Faith.  The key to grow in faith, is knowing that FAITH is not a feeling, not how you feel, but Faith is a person, His name is Jesus Christ  (Heb 12:2)  We do this BY KEEPING OUR EYES ON JESUS, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.…  Looking unto Jesus, will cause us to grow in our faith. When you see how good Jesus is, how loving and forgiving even though you keep making mistakes, He still Loves you the same, His love and cares for you never ceases, Jesus is the same 2000 years ago, now and forever; then suddenly your faith will spring up.

Faith does not come from you, it is by the Grace of God.  You do not build up your own Faith, but God will deposit the necessary Faith into you, God see your faith, simply when you know and believe His Great LOVE for you, when you look to the Love & Grace of Jesus. WHEN YOU SEE HIS LOVE, HE SEES YOUR FAITH.

Now, the Bible also teaches us the very practical way of walking by Faith. It is simply speaking it out irregardless of what you feel or how you feel your Faith level is. Keep speaking what you want to see, NOT what you see. When you keep speaking it, Faith will have His way out from you, because it was not you who raised the Faith, but it was the Lord. Your part is to speak, and God will do the Rest.

2Cor 4:13  And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I BELIEVED AND THEREFORE I SPOKE,” we also believe and therefore speak,
2Cor 4:14  knowing that HE who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you.

Start speaking out your Faith today: “I am God’s beloved! ; I am the disciple whom Jesus loves”.

Faith works by love

Growing in Faith – from No Faith to Great Faith

As we wait for the full manifestation of the Restoration, we are going to grow in our Faith. Can Faith grow?  And What is the significance of growing in faith?  Every Christian will experience walking in Faith and growing in Faith. Therefore, faith can grow, and the bible shows there is degree in faith starting from zero / no faith growing to great faith:

  1. No Faith.
New Believers always start from this point of no faith. We see this in the story of (Luk 8:22-25).  It happened, on a certain day, that Jesus got into a boat with His disciples. And He said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side of the lake.” And they launched out. But as they sailed Jesus was tired and fell asleep. And a windstorm came down on the lake, and the boat was filling with water, and were in jeopardy. And the disciples came to Jesus and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!”Wait a minute, Jesus was in the boat, and the disciples had witnessed Jesus performing many miracles, casting out devils, and yet they still were afraid with the storm?  Then Jesus arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: “Shalom!”. And they ceased, and there was a calm.  Then, in Luk 8:25  Jesus said to them, “Where is your faith?”  Jesus certainly did not see they were having any Faith here.  But, the good news is: it does not matter whether they’re having No Faith, still they got their restoration and miracles done, because Jesus was in the boat, they did not drown. The miracles still happen in the presence of Jesus.

But this is not what Jesus wants from us! Because He does not want us to live in a frenzy.  Living in fear, fret and worry! That is why Jesus wants us to walk in Faith. While you are waiting for your restoration, Jesus wants you to have peace and Rest. However, if you think you are still in this stage of No faith, it does not matter, because at the end of this article you will grow in Faith. You don’t have to fear, you don’t have to fret, but you can be at Rest!

  2. Little Faith.
In this story, the disciples have followed Jesus much longer, but still their faith had not grown much. (Mat 14:22-31) …Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away. And when He had sent the multitudes away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray. Now when night came, He saw the boat was in the middle of the sea, being tossed by the waves, for the wind was raging hard. So, Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. And when Peter saw Him walking on the sea, And Peter said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.” So Jesus said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”Mat 14:31  And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of LITTLE FAITH, why did you doubt?”

Even so with such little Faith, Peter still managed to walk on the water for a while, which is a miracle for no one can walk on water!  He walked a little while before he began to sink, and Jesus reached out for him, then I believed Peter walked back on the water to the boat again, before Jesus rebuked Peter for having “such a Little Faith”.

If you think your Faith is also such a little, the good news is that you will not drown and you can still walk on water! In fact, even with faith as little as a mustard seed (which is the smallest of most seeds), Jesus said you can move the mountain (Mat 17:20). But, Jesus does not want us to be assaulted by doubt, and live in frantic being tossed by situations around us. Jesus wants us to have Rest while waiting for the Restoration that God has promised.

  3. Great Faith.
(Mat 8:5-10) When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him, saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.”   And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”  But, the centurion answered and said, “Lord, … You only need to speak a word, and my servant will be healed.Mat 8:10  When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said: …”Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such GREAT FAITH, not even in Israel!

How did The Centurion have such great faith according to Jesus? Because he was not worrying, nor doubting if Jesus could heal, he did not fret, nor in fear; but he was at Rest. He told Jesus No Need to come to his house, but just speak the word and his servant would be healed. This is how Jesus wants you to live, A LIFE OF REST and having bold faith, knowing God’s Restoration is on the way!

Audacious Faith
There is one more faith that the bible mentioned, that I find it greater than great, it is audacious!  It is found in the story of the woman with the issue of blood for twelve years (Mar 5:25-34) She had suffered and spent all that she had to heal her illness condition from many physicians. She was now broke no money, and her illness rather grew worse. When she heard about Jesus, she came behind Him in the crowd and wanted to just touch His garment. For she said, “If only I may touch His clothes, I shall be made well.”

Wow, of all the previous stories, we know that everyone who received the miracles, had a face to face encounter with Jesus, and directly asked for Jesus’ permission. They KNOW Jesus is ABLE to heal, but they NEED to ASK Jesus if He is WILLING to heal?  But, this woman came like stealth; she was sure Jesus was able to heal her, and she did not even think it was necessary to ask for Jesus’ permission to heal her, nor necessary for Jesus to lay hand on her.  She just took it by stealth, she came up from behind Him quietly in the crowd and touched the edge of His cloak, believing just a touch of His clothes will amount to her healing. Indeed, immediately her bleeding stopped and she felt in her body that she was freed from her suffering. And, Jesus credited the miracle on her Faith (Mar 5:34). This is the kind of Faith, we should have for we walk under Grace!

The Scriptures show: There are various degree of FAITH, you may have no faith or just a little faith, but in anyway your Miracles / Restorations do not depend on the degree of your Faith, but depend on Jesus.  Miracles always happened in the presence of Jesus, when Jesus is in the midst of your situation, when we pray in His Mighty Name.

However, Jesus did rebuke His disciples for having no Faith, and rebuked Peter for having a little faith. Jesus is not pleased when you have no faith, because He does not want you to live in fear nor fret. He wants you to live under His amazing Grace, that we should be at Rest with Jesus.  For we are His beloved, we are aware of our closeness to Jesus, we are redeemed by His blood because of His great Love towards us, and we just need to stretch forward and receive from Him. And, because of Jesus’ over payment on the cross we are greatly blessed, highly favored and deeply loved. This is called: Audacious faith!

Grow in faith

FAITH causes REST for His RESToration

Heb 3:18  And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not OBEY?
Heb 3:19  So we see that they could not enter in because of UNBELIEF.

Bible defines disobedience as not having faith (Unbelief), and because of this unbelief, they could not enter into REST, not having the peace of God in their life.  All is because of Unbelief or not having faith.

Heb 4:1  Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His REST, let us FEAR lest any of you seem to have come short of it.
Heb 4:2  For indeed the GOSPEL was preached to us as well as to them; but the word (the Gospel) which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with FAITH in those who heard it.

Heb 4:3  For we who have believed (those who walk in FAITH) do enter that REST, …

The only FEAR that a Christian believer has to watch out for is the Fear of not entering into the place of REST. This place of Rest is the promised inheritance of God for believers to receive all His blessings. the promise of entering His rest still stands. The verse warned that let us be careful that none of believers be found to have fallen short of it.  Rest can be possessed easily, when you hear the Gospel being preached. The Gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ, what He has done for us and who we are in Christ. When you keep hearing His Loving Kindness poured out for you, Faith raises us effortlessly, and this will profit your soul, as you come to the place of REST. This is the position that God wants you to have while He restores your life this year of His Restoration.

This year as we believe, we will enter the REST and experience the RESToration. So, as we wait for the full manifestation of the RESToration, we are going to grow in our Faith. Faith in the Gospel, Faith in all that Jesus has done at the cross. Believing what He did at the cross, that punishments He took, the beating He absorbed, is the full payment for us, He has paid the full price for our peace. Jesus payment is our peace. When you enter the Rest, you enter the PROMISED LAND, this is His inheritance for you as Children of God, His completeness, His blessings into your life. Thus, say this to yourself: “His payment is my possession ; His payment is my REST”.
